Akufo-Addo deserves no commendation - Asiedu Nketia

Prior to the Supreme Court’s final verdict, many were those who commended Nana Akufo-Addo, Dr. Bawumia and Mr. Jake Obetsebi Lamptey for recognizing and seeking redress at the court.

The reason for the commendation was that the leader of the largest opposition party refused to charge his followers to pick up arms and destabilize the peace of the country.

But this move seems not to have satisfied the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress. Mr. Asiedu Nketia tells OKAY FM that the 2012 presidential candidate for the NPP deserves no commendation for wasting the nation’s time with the petition he filed at the Supreme Court.

According to him, Nana Addo has proved that he is not a real democrat. He explains real democrats “accept” defeat after they have lost an election.

Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia claims that if one were to look directly into the eyes of God and tell the truth, then he or she would be right to say that Nana Akufo-Addo did not consider the court as his first option.

His first option according the Mr. Nketia was to organize his supporters at the Obra Spot and tell them they should not accept the election results.

“He urged his supporters to use unlawful means from scratch…and out of this, they beat people, destroyed cars and other properties…His second step was to set up the 'Let My Vote Count movement'. This group also used boisterous acts to disturb our peace at the regional capitals and remote areas. After Nana Addo realized that all his options had failed him, he went to court”, he said.
