Akufo-Addo calls on Presby Moderator, National Chief Imam

The 2012 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has met the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Rt. Rev. Professor Emmanuel Martey, at his office in Accra.

As part of a series of meetings to inform stakeholders in country about the decision he has taken regarding his political future, Nana Addo’s meeting with Rt. Rev. Professor Emmanuel Martey was also to inform the latter about his arrival in Ghana.

Nana Addo said it was important that even before his much anticipated announcement on Thursday, March 20, certain key persons in the country are informed directly on the decision he has taken regarding his political future.

Rt. Rev. Professor Emmanuel Martey prayed for God’s blessings for Nana Akufo-Addo as he embarks on the next chapter of his political career, admonishing him to, as he has always done, put God first in all of his endeavours.

Nana Addo was accompanied by Hon. William Ofori Boafo, the NPP Member of Parliament for Akropong.

In a related development, Nana Akufo-Addo has also called on the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, at his residence in New Fadama, Accra.

Accompanied by former Greater Accra Regional Minister, Sheikh I.C. Quaye and former Accra Metropolitan Authority boss, Stanley Adjiri Blankson, Nana Addo’s visit was to officially inform the Chief Imam of his arrival in the country, after a six month break from active politics.

Nana Addo also took the opportunity to inform the Chief Imam on the decision he had taken regarding the next step of his political career ahead of the Thursday, March 20, declaration.

Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, on his part, gave thanks to Allah for Nana Akufo-Addo’s safe arrival to Ghana. He urged Nana Addo to remain focussed and be guided by his vision for the country ahead of Thursday’s declaration.
