President's Asset Retrieval Task Force Head, Daasebre Kwabena Ahenkorah has called for the immediate arrest of the former Member of Parliament for Nkoranza South and former Deputy Local Government Minister, Emmanuel Agyekum for duping the state.

In an interview with Kwame Tutu on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he said, the former state official imported a $120, 000 vehicle but paid only GHc1, 000 as duty.

He said the former Minister should have paid a total of GHc120, 000 (1.2 billion old cedis) for the vehicle but failed to do so and paid only GHc1, 000. He charged the Customs Commissioner to with immediate effect retrieve the car from him [Agyekum] ‘’because he imported the car from Dubai at a cost of $120, 000 but paid only GHc1, 000 as duty. He used state a car to dupe the state. The car should be retrieved from him.

He duped the state and his V8 should be seized so he will be forced to pay for the duty on the car before it is released to him. He caused financial loss to the state.

The car registration number is GR 4317, he has not paid a duty on the car, he was paid by the state when he was Minister and so he should be made to pay back.’’ Officials of the presidential Taskforce on the retrieval of state assets some few months ago, ransacked the Ashongman Estate residence of the former Deputy Local Government Minister, Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum on suspicion that he’s keeping state vehicles.

The former government official denied the claims of keeping state vehicles but Daasebre Kwabena Ahenkorah maintained he [Agyekum] is keeping four stolen cars in his possession and has challenged him to deny the claims.

''I have the documents and so he should deny my claims. He can go to court. I have worked on the car and I can tell you he duped the state for failing to pay duty on the car. I am challenging him to deny it. He has hidden the 4 stolen cars. He's still keeping the cars.''
