Address your grievances to GETFund - Domelevo replies Minister

Daniel Yaw Domelevo, Auditor-General Daniel Yaw Domelevo, Auditor-General

The Auditor-General, Daniel Yaw Domelevo has urged deputy Agric minister, Kennedy Osei Nyarko whose name appeared in the list of GETFund beneficiaries to address his concerns to the GETfund if he thinks the appearance of his name in the list is an error.

According to the Auditor-General, all information or names contained in the report came from GETfund, the audited entity and not generated by his office.

His response comes after Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Kennedy Osei Nyarko gave the Auditor-General, Daniel Yaw Domelevo a 24-hour ultimatum to retract and apologise to him for wrongfully including his name in the list GETfund beneficiaries.

Deputy Minister for Agric and Member of Parliament(MP) for Akyem Swedru, Kennedy Osei Nyarko threatened to sue the Auditor-General, Daniel Domelevo over the publication unless an apology is issued.

According to the Kennedy Osei, he has never taken any scholarship or never been a beneficiary of any scholarship scheme.

He added that Auditor-General should have done due diligence before releasing the said beneficiary list.

Lawyer for Mr Nyarko, Gary Nimako in a letter addressed to the Auditor-General said Mr Domelevo should have known there was a problem with his inclusion of his client’s name because no money was attached to it as was the case of the other alleged beneficiaries.

He also accused the Auditor-General of being unprofessional and malicious in his work. In a response to the above statement, the Auditor General said “my office did not cause to be published any ‘supposed list of top political figures” who are claimed to have benefitted from the scholarship at the GETFund.”

He said that the information contained in an audit report is from the audited entity and in this instance every information or names that are contained in the performance of the audit report of GETFund came from GETFund, the audited entity.

“My office has no malice or bias toward any individual named as beneficiary from GETFund in our audit report. Your grievances, therefore, is best addressed by GETFund who provided the audit team with the necessary information and name beneficiaries during the audit “Domelevo response states.
