The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has praised the Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, for his consistent and timely monthly releases, which continue to strengthen the country’s educational system, particularly under the Mahama administration.

In a statement released on Monday, June 16, 2025, GETFund stated that the regular flow of funds has been vital in advancing national education priorities, including the Free Senior High School (SHS) programme.

According to the Fund, these timely disbursements have enabled uninterrupted payments to contractors and suppliers working on essential educational infrastructure projects.

They have also facilitated prompt financial support to the Students Loan Trust Fund for disbursement to tertiary students, the full payment of the Youth Employment Agency’s allocation for the year, and the settlement of WASSCE registration fees, ensuring that no student is excluded due to financial difficulties.

The Administrator of GETFund, Paul Adjei, commended the Finance Minister for his transparency and responsiveness, describing the collaboration as crucial to sustaining progress in the education sector.

He emphasised that the regular releases reflect President John Mahama’s commitment to human capital development and his government’s focus on equitable access to quality education.

Adjei further assured the public of GETFund’s continued commitment to prudent fund management and strategic investments in educational infrastructure, logistics, and academic resources—aimed at complementing government efforts and enhancing the long-term success of national education policies.

GETFund noted that this financial consistency marks a significant improvement in operational stability, laying a solid foundation for ongoing educational reforms and inclusive development across the country.
