Phobian goes to court

A supporter of Accra Hearts of Oak has filed a suit against the Ghana Football Association, seeking an injunction on this weekend's Premier League matches.

Emmanuel Otu Quaye has filed an ex-parte motion at an Accra High Court over the GFA"s inability to come clear on which rules are applicable to the league.

He, therefore, wants the court to restrain the Ghana Football Association from proceeding with the league until the soccer governing body clears the air over which of two sets of rules are applicable to the league.

Hearts sought to rely on some provisions in the new draft to register two players; Charles Taylor and Ishmael Addo for the league but the GFA raised legal arguments to quash the move.

Hearts on Wednesday issued an ultimatum to the FA to resolve the issue by close of work the same day or face court action.

The GFA initially handed out draft copies of the regulations to the clubs but has subsequently put on sale an amended one.
