The Architecture and Engineering Services Limited (AESL) has been tasked to examine the Cape Coast Court Complex, which is said to need urgent attention.

The Chief Justice on Tuesday, February 7 received a report on the condition of the court building.

The concrete roof slab is said to be in urgent need of repair works.

“Management is inviting AESL to examine the structure to advise on the safety of the building and the various segments of work that need to be done urgently,” a release on Tuesday by the Judicial Service said.

The examination will take two days, hence the court will be closed to all and sundry on Wednesday, February 8 and Thursday, February 9.

The court complex houses nine courts including the Cape Coast Court of Appeal, three high courts and two circuit and commercial courts. It has also a district court since its establishment in 1976.

“Management deeply regrets any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause all court users and the general public.”
