ABL, Voltic call on Ga Traditional Council

Mr Anthony Grendon, Managing Director of Accra Brewery Limited (ABL) and Voltic (GH) Ltd (Voltic), both subsidiaries of SABMiller plc, led the Management team of the two companies to pay a courtesy call on the members of the Ga Traditional Council at their office in Kaneshie, Accra.

The visit, which is in line with the companies’ objectives of building a cordial working relationship with the communities in which it operates, was also an opportunity to formally introduce Mr. Anthony Grendon, the new Managing Director of the two companies as well as express gratitude to the traditional authorities for their support over the years.

A donation of GH¢20,000, an assortment of 50 cases of ABL’s brands and 40 cases of Voltic Natural Mineral Water were presented to the Council to support them in the celebration of this year’s Homowo festivities. Mr Grendon, who was pleased with the warm reception from the Ga Traditional Council, affirmed the commitment of both ABL and Voltic towards the welfare of the people in the traditional area.

He said the synergy that exists between the companies and the communities has created a conducive environment for the operations of the companies which consequently impacts the livelihoods of the people.

“As I fully take over the management of the two companies, I will uphold the mantle of my predecessors and ensure that our relationship with the people of the communities continue to grow steadily as ABL completes its multimillion dollar expansion project,” he said.

Nii Dodoo Nsaki II, Acting President of the Ga Traditional Council, warmly welcomed the delegation and educated them on the Ga tradition and some aspects of the Homowo Festival, promising to invite them to witness this year’s celebrations.

“We are very grateful to ABL and Voltic for the generous donation made towards the development of the Ga State. ABL’s establishment on our land has always been our backbone. Your consistent support in health, education, water and provision of employment amongst other things are indeed a firm demonstration of your value as a partner in social and economic development,” he said.

Nii Dodoo wished Mr. Grendon well and assured him of the community’s support in improving the fortunes of both companies.
