Edward Omane Boamah, the director of IT and elections of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has pointed out another error in data presentation on the limited voter registration exercise as released by the Electoral Commission (EC).

The EC, on May 19, 2024, posted Day 1 to 11 data on the cumulative registrations per regions, the gender breakdown, the mode of registration and the challenges that have been mounted per region.

It was in the case of the latter figures and graphical representation that Omane Boamah identified the error.

"The Electoral Commission of Ghana: These elementary errors are unacceptable! From the Bar graph, Upper East and Greater Accra have 981 challenges filed per region. Yet, the graph of Greater Accra is way taller than that of Upper East," he observed.

This is the second time the NDC has pointed out errors in the EC's data presentation.

The EC has since reacted to the latest development admitting the error and stating measures to prevent a recurrence.

"The Commission has noted the figure for Greater Accra was wrongly repeated for Upper East on the slide on Challenge cases earlier published. All other slides are correct.

"The Commission has today met with the Team responsible for developing the Infographs and made significant changes. In addition, more rigorous methods will be instituted going forward.

"Please see the corrected slide on the Challenge cases and the rest of the slides. Thank you," the EC posted on social media with the corrected graphic.
