A joint team of military, police and fire service personnel have reportedly rescued an unidentified woman around the Kanda area.

According to a video report shared by Onua TV on Facebook on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, and sighted by GhanaWeb, the woman, believed to be middle-aged, escaped an attempted attack by three unidentified men around midnight, based on her account.

In an attempt to flee, she reportedly entered a gutter near Afriko and moved through the drainage system, eventually emerging near the Flagstaff House, where she stayed overnight.

The report further added that she called for help, attracting passersby who alerted security operatives stationed in the area, which has been designated a high-security zone.

In the video footage, the woman appeared frail and unkempt. She looked skinny, with disheveled hair, and seemed barely able to stand with dirt all over her body.

The footage also showed her kneeling on the ground with her hands raised, which many believe was a gesture for help, as she was surrounded by passersby and security officers.

Some military personnel were also seen attempting to replace the slab on the opened gutter.
