A joint police operation has led to the arrest of two additional suspects in connection with the deadly robbery at Fufulso Junction in the Savannah Region, bringing the total number of suspects arrested so far to five.
According to the police, the operation was carried out by a special team constituted by the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno.
“The team includes personnel from the IGP’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team as well as the Anti-Armed Robbery Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters in Accra.”
Police confirmed that three suspects were arrested on March 12, 2026.
“They are Habibata Kojo, 29; Ibrahim Sumaila, 35; and Alhassan Yusif, believed to be about 40 years old.

“The following day, March 13, 2026, the police apprehended two more suspects, Dramani Imoro, 24, and Sayibu Iddi, 50.”
According to investigators, all five suspects are currently in police custody assisting with ongoing investigations into the incident.
The arrests are linked to a violent robbery that occurred at Fufulso Junction in the Savannah Region on March 8, 2026, at about 7:30 p.m.
During the attack, armed robbers stormed Golden Linq Ventures, a mobile money vending shop, where they shot and killed the operator, Mahama Majeed, along with another individual.
Following the incident, the IGP swiftly deployed the specialised team to support the Buipe District Police Command in tracking down the perpetrators.
Initial police investigations indicate that six suspects including one female believed to be of Fulani extraction carried out the attack. The suspects were reportedly armed with AK-47 rifles concealed under long coats.
Police say the group targeted the mobile money shop during the robbery, leading to the fatal shooting of the victims.
During a search at the residence of suspect Dramani Imoro, investigators discovered several items believed to be linked to the crime. These include an unregistered Toyota Voxy vehicle which police say he allegedly purchased 72 hours after the robbery, an unregistered Haojue motorbike and two smartphones.
The recovered items have been secured as exhibits as investigations continue.
