Drivers and pastors have shared mixed views on the Road Traffic Regulations on October 9, 2026, which prohibit preaching and hawking in moving commercial vehicles in Ghana.
Speaking to OTEC FM reporters in kumasi, some drivers called for pastors to be stopped from preaching in their vehicles, arguing that it disturbs them while driving.
Others however, said the pastors do not spend much time preaching and are simply doing their work, but the government has made its decision and they have little choice but to comply.
Some pastors disagreed with the restriction, saying preaching in commercial vehicles gives them an opportunity to reach passengers who do not attend church and continue to spread the word of God whether the restriction is enforced or not.
The debate continues as drivers and pastors express different views on balancing road safety with religious activities.
