A driver and his mate have been found dead under mysterious circumstances at Elsie Hotel in Nkawkaw in the Kwahu West Municipality of the Eastern Region, prompting a police investigation.

The deceased have been identified as Emmanuel Ayisi, 37 and his mate, Emmanuel Dankyi.

According to a report by adomonline.com on July 17, 2026, the two men checked into the hotel after travelling from Donkorkrom.

Police sources said the pair arrived in Nkawkaw late in the day and decided to spend the night at the hotel before continuing their journey. They were later found unresponsive in their room.

The incident was reported to the police, who visited the scene and launched investigations into the deaths.

"The bodies have been conveyed to the Holy Family Hospital Mortuary in Nkawkaw for preservation and autopsy," the report said.

Meanwhile, the manager of the hotel and a security guard have been arrested to assist with investigations as authorities work to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police say investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of death, with further details expected as the probe continues.
