The Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as Kwame A Plus, has explained why he believes he cannot be voted out of office.
According to him, his leadership style and focus on development set him apart from his predecessors.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with GhanaWeb, A Plus noted that while some people attempt to compare his leadership to that of former MPs for the constituency, he is confident that his approach delivers tangible development rather than relying on symbolic gestures.
He claimed that past leaders often used food and social gatherings to win favour, but his focus is on infrastructure and long-term progress.
Office of Special Prosecutor should be collapsed - Kwame A Plus
“Look, in my area, it is very difficult to remove me. You understand? I hear people say, ‘Hey, you know this MP, he was with the people and he lost’. There is a difference between development and eating banku and tilapia with people and taking photos to put on social media. There’s one MP; he was with the boys, they were eating and drinking, so he lost. But you don’t understand: development is different from banku and tilapia,” he said.
“It’s very difficult to remove me. So they should let us work together,” he added.
A Plus further stated that his political positioning is not bound by rigid party loyalty but rather shaped by the actions and management style of political institutions.
He explained that all parties must recognise this reality, stressing his own influence while clarifying that he does not misuse it.

“It depends on what the political party does or how they manage what they do. All the political parties must understand it like that. They have to leave it like that. I’m a very influential guy. It’s not that I’m waiting for somebody to tell me, but I know that I’m a very influential guy. The only thing I don’t do is abuse it. I don’t treat people badly because I feel I’m influential,” he claimed.
