VEEP Receives Tennis Delegation

Mrs Cora Master Barry, the Chief executive of Wish List Committee based in the United States, says as an advocate of Pan-Africanism, she is interested in helping to develop Africa tennis to the level of being appreciated at the world level.

As part of her commitment, her group is exploring ways for world tennis stars, Venus and Serena Williams to help in the development of the game on the continent and paricularly in Ghana.

Mrs Barry made these known when she led a two-man delegation from the Committee to pay a courtesy call onVice President Aliu Mahama at the Castle Osu. According to Mrs Barry, her committee was attracted to help develop tennis in the country because of thehuge potential that exist.

As part of her programme, she last Tuesday donated tennis equipment worth thousands of dollars to the Ghana Tennis Association on behalf of the Williams sisters.

Vice President Alhaji Mahama expressed appreciation for the concern and support of the committee. He also commended them for the role they are playing to help promote the lesser known sports in the country.

Mr Alan Kyeremanteng, the former Ambassador to the United States and currently the Minister in charge of Trade, Industries and Presidential Special Initiatives, accompanied the delegation.
