Rockcare Herbal Limited through their Alkamin Mineral Water brand is set to invest about GHS50,000 in tennis development through the National Ranking Tour.

The company will headline the second edition of the National Ranking Tour which comes off between Monday, March 13, 2017, and Saturday, March 18, 2017, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

At a short ceremony to outdoor the sponsorship package, President of the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF), Mr Isaac Aboagye Duah, thanked the management of Rockcare for coming on board to support them.

He also commended them for joining hands with the Ghana Tennis Federation to get kids talented in tennis off the street.

He said the ranking tour will be used to rank the professional tennis players to get them on the International Tennis Federation (ITF) ladder.

He added that as part of the package, Alkamin will also sponsor this year’s Corporate Double Championship which forms part of the many activities to mark Ghana’s 60th anniversary.

A representative of Rockcare Herbal Limited, Dr Antwi Tetteh, said his company was pleased to be part of the beginning of a success story in the development of sports in the country.

He stated that the partnership will continue as long as the GTF is able to succeed in their activities and again pledged to support all tennis activities to be held at the tennis court of the Accra Sports Stadium.

He said the winner of the tournament will receive a cash prize of GHS2,000 plus souvenirs like Alkamin Mineral Water, Genicure 442, Rockcare Capsules and others.

The runner-up will also receive a cash prize of GHS1,000 and souvenirs from the sponsor.

The Deputy Director at the National Sports Authority (NSA), Mr Saaka Acquaye, applauded the GTF for coming up with the ranking tour which, he said, would keep the players busy throughout the year.

He added that the competition will also serve as preparatory grounds to select players for the Commonwealth Games to be held in Australia next year.
