The Ghana Tennis Federation is struggling to raise the needed $49000 to prepare its team for the Davis Cup.

Ghana needs to send a team of five players to Cairo, Egypt to compete in the Davis Cup Zone 3 which starts on October 26.

Ghana however, appear unlikely to enter the competition over the lack of funds despite the impressive exploits of Tennis at the 2015 All Africa Games.

Tennis delivered one of the two gold medals won by Ghana at the games which was staged in Congo, Brazzaville.

The Sports Ministry however, remain adamant they do not have the funds to prepare and airlift the tennis team to Egypt for this competition.
