Amoah/Hammond to participate in World Championship

Accra, Feb 6, GNA - Eric Amoah and Eric Hammond, members of the National Table Tennis team, the Golden Loopers will participate in the next edition of the World Table Tennis Championship in Zagreb, Croatia.

The championship fixed for May 21-27, will see the assembly of the best players on the globe in the sport.

In an interview with the GNa Sports from his London base, Amoah said his participation forms part of his preparations towards the All Africa Games in Algiers, Algeria this year. Amoah said that his managers, Alordia Promotions have agreed to foot his bills on the trip, whilst his colleague is raising the funds himself for the championship.

The Ghanaian, currently participating in a table tennis league in London, said the championship will provide him with the needed exposure and experience to take up the Africa challenge.

Amoah who contributed to Ghana's group bronze medal in the last All Africa Game in Abuja, Nigeria is aiming at an individual medal this time around hence his determination to participate in the competition.
