Ministry and NSC wish Zito well

Accra, Aug 3, GNA - The Ministry of Education and Sports and the Management of the National Sports Council (NSC) have expressed their profound sympathies to Coach Karim Zito, acting head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko football Club after his near fatal encounter with armed thugs last Saturday.

The message signed by Mr Charles Ayeh, Acting Chief Executive of the NSC said they learnt with deep shock the attack on the coach that resulted with him sustaining deep serious body injuries.

Mr Ayeh said it was most surprising and shocking as the event took place while the coach was on his way home after mourning his late colleague, Ofei Ansah at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra. The message said the Council takes consolation in the fact that the coach has undergone successful operation to reattach his slashed limb. "We wish you a speedy recovery to enable you assume your vanguard position in helping to improve Ghana football, it added. 03 Aug 05
