Late Diarra penalty puts Lyon into Cup third round

PARIS, Feb 13 (Reuters) - A late penalty by midfielder Mahamadou Diarra helped league leaders Olympique Lyon clinch a 2-1 victory at Toulouse on Sunday and qualify for the third round of the French Cup.

Diarra scored the winning goal from the spot in the 77th minute after Toulouse goalkeeper Christophe Revault fouled teenage striker Nilmar inside the box.

Lyon went ahead when international Sylvain Wiltord headed home a cross from Florent Malouda in the 65th minute but the hosts equalised seven minutes later when midfielder Stephane Dalmat powered the ball into the net from 25 metres.

Lyon will take on Ligue 2 side Clermont Foot in the last 16.
