Chicago Fire winger David Accam is in ecstatic mood after helping the club to end a 36-match winless away streak in Major League Soccer during the weekend.

The 25-year-old lasted the entire duration of Saturday's 3-0 win at Montreal Impact, netting the second goal at the Saputo Stadium on 73 minutes.

Luis Solignac and Matt Polster were also on target on the day, the former opening the scoring from the Ghanaian's assist in the 15th minute.

"It feels like we haven't won on the road in ages," Accam told his club's official website

“This was one of our best performances of the season.

"We played according to our plan of what we were told.

“We have a good team and have no pressure on ourselves."

Saturday's triumph was their first away win since a 1-0 win over New England Revolution on July 2014. The victory also ended the club’s record nine-game losing streak on the road.

"We need to go on the pitch every day to enjoy the game," Accam added.

"We played well, enjoyed the game and worked really hard.

"We just need to continue playing well and enjoying it.”

Accam, who joined the Men in Red in February 2015, has six goals and four assists to his name this season.
