GFA partners Suncity Radio, MTN for soccer clinic

Suncity Radio and MTN, in collaboration with the Ghana Football Association (GFA), have organized a one-day soccer clinic for footballers in the Sunyani Municipality.

About 400 footballers, aged between 8-15 years, took part in the programme.

They were taken through some techniques in football, including ball control, dribbling, chesting, passing, and breaking as well as effective throw-ins, free-kick taking, corner and penalty kicks.

Seasoned Ghanaian coaches and ex-soccer stars, like Messrs Opuni Quami, AnthonyAwuah, Kwasi Owusu and Ntow Gyan were among the facilitators of the exercise.

Mr Kwesi Nyantekyi, the GFA President in a message, expressed delight for the programme, saying that, it fall in line with the FA’s commitment to grassroot soccer development.

He pledged his personal support and that of his technical staff to augment the efforts of the organizers, to unearth and develop soccer to higher levels, in the Brong Ahafo Region and Ghana, as a whole.

Mr Ransford Antwi, the Managing Director of Suncity Radio, commended MTN, GFA, the technical crew as well as all stakeholders for supporting a worthy course.

He hinted that plans were far advanced to extend the programme to other districts in the Brong Ahafo Region.

The soccer clinic was preceded by an early morning health walk, and work-outs. Various organizations, keep fit clubs and members of the general public, took part in the health exercise.
