Former Ghana international, Mathew Amoah says he has no urge to watch the Ghana Premier League and other domestic competitions because there is little attraction.

The Ghana 2006 World Cup striker opined that Ghanaian fans follow European leagues ahead of their own local leagues means strangers or visitors like himself have no option than to follow suit.

The 34-year-old who plays for Dutch second-tier side FC Eindhoven says, coming to the realization that even Ghanaian football fans don’t patronize the domestic competitions is a testament of the fact that the game lacks quality.

Although a native of Tema, Amoah’s early departure from Ghana has led to an almost anonymous profile in the West African country because he never played any top level club football in Ghana.

Amoah moved at the age of 16 to the Netherlands, where he linked with Vitesse Arnhem, spending eight seasons at the football club.

The former Borrussia Dortmund striker says he knows very little about Ghana Football because he has no appetite to watch.

“I don’t watch Ghana football so I don’t know anything about it”, Amoah told Sportscrusader.com when asked about his opinion at the level of the competition in the leagues.

“What will push me to watch Ghana football”, He quizzed.

“Even the fans around here don’t watch Ghana football, but always watching EPL and La Liga so why should I watch it”, he added
