Mercy Myles to be appointed Black Queens captain

Black Queens midfielder, Mercy Myles will act as the stand-in captain when Ghana faces Zimbabwe on March 21 in the 2015 All Africa Games first-leg qualifier at the Essipong Stadium in Sekondi, DailySoccerGhana.com can exclusively confirm.

The 23-year-old is preparing for the responsibility ahead, though she is yet to receive official notification from Head Coach Yusif Basigi regarding her new make-shift role.

It has become necessary for the Reformers Ladies player to wear the captain’s armband following an injury to skipper Leticia Zikpi, who has been ruled out of the qualifier.

Zikpi is currently nursing a knee injury she picked up while playing for the Black Queens at the Africa Women’s Championship in Namibia last year.
