Kwadwo Asamoah to miss Afcon 2015

Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah will fly to Barcelona Tuesday for a knee operation, the Bianconeri have announced.

The 25-year-old has been on the sidelines over the past few weeks due to a left knee injury and after missing out on today’s session it has been confirmed that he needs to go under the knife to fix it.

The Ghana international will be out for two to three months to fully recover, meaning he will miss out on the Africa Cup of Nations due January 18 to February 7, 2015 in Equatorial Guinea.

His arthroscopic surgery in Spain will be carried out by Dr Ramon Cugat and it is aimed at repairing a cartilage in his left knee after reporting continued pain in the region.

Asamoah missed out on their away win against Malmo in the Champions League this Wednesday.
