Frank Acheampong looks up to Alba for inspiration

Anderlecht winger Frank Acheampong wants to emulate Jordi Alba, claiming the Barcelona star is the best left-back in Europe.

Acheampong, 21, has been deployed at the left-back in recent times for the Belgian giants in a make-shift role, where he has excelled heavily.

The former Buiram man has tormented defenders with his speed and flair and says he looks up to the Barcelona man to improve his stock.

“For me, Jordi Alba of Barcelona is the best left back in Europe,” “One moment he takes part in attack, ten seconds later he defend it on his own. He is simply phenomenal.

“When playing left back you sometimes sprint sixty meters to get the ball. Then you have to come back quickly. That is often tiring and frustrating.

“In the Champions League I place mostly between ten and twelve miles off, and that is a lot for a defender.”

Acheampong is one of Anderlecht most versatile players, remaining a key figure in their domestic title fight this season.
