We need to improve to win AFCON 2015 – C. K.

Ahead of the Afcon 2015 tournament to be staged in Equatorial Guinea, ex-Black Stars skipper Charles Akunnor has called on the technical department of the team to ensure improvement in the team if the country’s target is to win the ultimate.

According to CK, the goal concession rate of the team during the qualifiers is very alarming even though the team has been winning matches, and that, the technical team must work tirelessly towards improving the defensive department of the team to ensure Ghana wins the tournament.

In an exclusive interview with sportscrusader.com, CK said, “Well obviously, every department of the game must be strengthened. We know our strength is in our midfield, let’s improve that. We also know our greatest weakness is with our two center back positions which we must take a critical look at. So we need to improve these areas”.

“But we must also know that we have some few months to do all these which means that these things must be done and done quickly”, he added.

There have been numerous calls from the football fraternity for the Black stars to win the Afcon once more after last winning the tourney in 1982.
