TO STRENGTHEN their financial base and to enable them to actively participate in this year’s African Champions’ league, champion club, Accra Hearts of Oak, has launched the much-touted “show-your-love” campaign to generate funds, in Kumasi.

The campaign seeks to solicit funds from all soccer loving Ghanaians, and supporters of the club, in particular, to enable the club to participate in the first two stages of the competition which receives no sponsorship or monetary assistance from the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Clad in their rainbow colours, thousands of supporters and chapter members thronged the “Aseam” grounds “the venue for the launch, to either donate generously or give their widows’ mite to support the cause of their idol club.

Whilst some donated cash ranging from ?500,000 to ?2 million, others made monthly pledges between ?100,000 and ?200,000, to better the club’s future.

Making the single highest donation of ?2 million, a member of the national chapters committee and chairman for Chapter “39”, and for the occasion, as well, Nana Owusu Asante, observed that the recent recruitment exercise has adversely affected the club, hence the need for the lovers of the club to assist financially.
