A second half strike by the 2010 Champions deepened the woes of the Mysterious Boys, who are rooted bottom of the log with 30 points from 27 matches. Chelsea’s win lifts them to the top of the second half of the table on 36 points.
In other results, leaders and champions Asante Kotoko were beaten 1-3 by Wa All Stars in a home match played at the Tamale Sports Stadium.
Hearts of Oak also went down by three unanswered goals to Sekondi Hasaacas at the Essipon Stadium.
Liberty Professionals beat Amidaus Professionals 2-1 while AshantiGold SC shared the spoils with King Faisal at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi. It ended 0-0.
Debutants Inter Allies’ revival continued through midweek as their 1-0 win over New Edubiase lifted them to sixth on the log with just four points separating them and second-placed Heart of Lions, who have an outstanding match with Medeama SC.
