Baselia to miss Nation's cup.

Baselia Amoah-Tetteh, top striker of Black Queens plying her trade in the United States will be missing in the team that represents the nation at the women version of the African Nation's Cup in Nigeria next month.

Information gathered by GNA Sports indicates that the top striker who powered in two of the three goals for the Queens during their qualifying match against Senegal is reported to be performing poorly for her club this season.

The player is among six foreign-based players expected to beef up the squad this weekend before the Queens emplane for Nigeria early December. Sources have hinted to the GNA Sports that when the profiles of the players were being scrutinized by the Queens handlers, it became evident that Baselia did not glitter due to injuries she sustained during the season.

This makes the speed star the first icon to have missed the boat to Nigeria next month. But whiles Baselia moves out, a new player has been discovered to replace her. She is Mimi Osei Agymang, a Ghanaian American born player who is said to be in a fantastic form. Mimi is expected to come down with other invited foreign players this weekend.

The lanky tall player who could not justified her inclusion in 1999 when she came down due to her feeble nature on the ball is said to have matured fully and is doing very well with her club. After barely a year of absence from the National camp, skipper Alberta Sackey would be weaving her way back into the team to add her experience and touch.

Alberta together with Elizabeth Baido, who deserted the team during the qualification period as well as the dribbling wizard, Adjoa Bayor, are all expected in town by November 30.

The technical directors are hopeful that with the inclusion of the professionals, the Queens would be capable of beating the Super Falcons of Nigeria when they come face to face during the fiesta.
