Jonathan Mensah scores first ever goal for Evian

Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah scored his first goal in the French top-flight for Evian TG in their 1-1 home stalemate with Stade Reims in the Ligue 1 on Saturday evening.

The powerful center-back powered the host into a 1-0 lead in the 75th minute at the Parc des Sports but Evian could not protect the lead as Togolese attacker Floyd Ayité grabbed a stoppage-time consolation to spare the blushes of the visitors.

It was the defender’s first ever goal for Evian since joining them two seasons ago from Granada.

The 23-year-old returned from injury recently and has rediscovered his form as he commands first team place at Evian.
