Solomon Asante committed to TP Mazembe

Black Stars winger Solomon Asante’s red-hot form this season for his club TP Mazembe has caught the eye of European scouts who are desperate for his services, Footy-Ghana.com can reveal.

According to our sources three agents contacted Asante and his team TP Mazembe right after their Confederation Cup final game against CS Sfaxien last week in Lubumbashi.

Speaking exclusively to footy-ghana.com, Asante reaffirmed his commitment to his club, adding he is unperturbed with the reports linking him away from his current club.

“I’m committed to TP. They have been good to my family and myself. It was difficult initially when I moved to Congo but due to their efforts I’m ok and I’m doing very well, so why should I move to another club? It is always a good thing to know when there are clubs chasing for your services but you have to be professional and be committed to your team and do well. I met some people who said they like me but as I said I don’t know any team apart from my team TP.”

Asante is in Ghana for the one-week commemoration of the passing of his beloved mother Monica Dankwa who died last week Thursday after a short illness.

A morbid Asante tells footy-ghana.com the demise of his mother won’t hinder his performance on the field of play.

“Yes I’m in Ghana for the one week celebration of my late mother. It is sad and the whole family is sad. When I heard the news I didn’t tell my team-mates and even the coaches because they would have told me to come down, meaning I was going to miss the Final game. I wanted to help my team win it and so I played the final game and we lost, but that is life. I will go back next week, but I came purposely for the one week celebration of my mum.”
