Everton await Nyarko bid

Monaco are believed to be on the verge of making a bid for Alex Nyarko although Everton have still not received any contact from the French club.

The Ghana international vowed never to play for Everton again following his traumatic experience at Highbury last season when he was accosted by an irate fan, but he will have to return if no buyer emerges by June 30 - the date his loan spell at the French First Division side expires.

Coach Didier Deschamps said recently that they see Nyarko as a vital ingredient at the club in the future and added: "He has done well to set aside the traumatic incidents at Everton. He is a true and talented professional."

The cash from the eventual sale of Nyarko will certainly come as a boost to David Moyes's limited transfer funds. The manager is believed to have only ?5million at his disposal to strengthen his squad this summer.
