Ghanaian Players in Europe

A round-up of African footballers’ performances at the weekend

JOHN PANTSIL (Fulham)

The defender made just his second Premier League appearance of 2010 in a 3-2 home win over West Ham. Pantsil has just returned from a cruciate ligament injury.

KEVN-PRINCE BOATENG (Portsmouth)

Played a part as relegated Portsmouth defeated Wolves 3-1 at home.

JOHN MENSAH (Sunderland)

The defender suffered an injury setback after making a surprise return in the 1-0 home defeat by Manchester United. Expected to miss the final matches of the season to rest a hamstring problem ahead of the World Cup, he came off after only 16 minutes.

PRINCE TAGOE (Hoffenheim)

The striker came off the bench in the 77th minute and scored his first two goals for the Bundesliga club which sealed a 2-1 win at Frankfurt.

SULLEY MUNTARI (Inter Milan)

The midfielder had a quiet night after coming on as a second-half substitute for Eto’o. Playing against a Lazio team that showed almost no desire to attack, Muntari was able to coast through to the end.

KWADWO ASAMOAH (Udinese)

Played his part as Cagliari fought back in an exciting four-goal thriller that saw many more scoring opportuities from both sides.

Bad news for Udinese, who lost substitute AGYEMAN BADU to injury just 25 minutes after he came off the bench.
