South korea to play friendly with Ghana

South Korea are planning to arrange a friendly with a top African team in March as part of their preparations for the 2010 World Cup. As the Taeguk Warriors face Nigeria in Group B along with Argentina and Greece, coach Huh Jung-moo is keen to see his players face a tough test from one of the continent’s best.

"As head coach Huh Jung-moo has asked for a game with an African team, we are in consultations with Ivory Coast, Cameroon, and Ghana, all of which have advanced to the World Cup finals,"Â arksports quoted Kim Joo-sung, head of the international affairs department at the Korea Football Association, as saying. The match will be played at March 3, though the venue, as well as the opposition has yet to be decided.

The Korean media believes that Ivory Coast are most likely to provide the test. Korea are due to head to South Africa on January 5 for a two-week training camp and coach Huh will send his coaching staff to the African Cup of Nations.
