Yeboah powers Liberty to first win

Accra, Dec 10, GNA - A second half brace from midfielder Samuel Ayew Yeboah powered Liberty Professionals to a 2-1 victory over Real Tamale United (RTU) in their third week premier league encounter at the Ohene Djan Stadium on Wednesday. The result ensured Liberty's first win of the three-week old season and a lift from the bottom ranks of the league standings.

After a boring first half which saw Liberty dominating possession, Ayew broke the deadlock with a contender of the goal of the season strike, as he chipped home from the edge of the penalty area 30 second from recess. On 76 minutes, the talented midfielder authenticated his side's lead by heading past RTU goalie Mohamed Opash after burly striker Owusu Ampomah had put him through.

Liberty was cruising to a two-goal victory before Tawfik Alolo reduced the deficit on the stroke of full-time from the spot after Liberty defender David Kabu had fouled Kabiru Imoro.
