B/A United Slams Division One League Board

The management of B.A United have strongly protested the security arrangements for their recent away matches to Space FC in Berekum and Aduana Stars in Aduana.

Speaking on behalf of the club, the CEO, Charles Kwadwo-Ntim aka Micky Charles expressed disappointment at the behavior of the DOLB, which had earlier assured B.A United of adequate security at Dormaa Ahenkro following the nasty incidents that occurred in Berekum when B.A United played Space FC.

According to the CEO, supporters of Aduana Stars really took advantage of the inadequate security presence and created an atmosphere of fear and insecurity at the stadium.

This included brandishing of naked fire and threatening to burn whoever they considered a threat to their victory. They justified this action by indicating that fire is their symbol. “What would happen if a team which has a lion as their symbol decides to bring a live lion to its matches? He asked”.

What was more disturbing and intriguing was the decision by some Aduana supporters to enter the inner perimeter when the goals were not coming and play the role of ball boys. This they achieved by chasing away the actual ball boys from the inner perimeter and collecting the T-shirts from them.

The CEO himself was not spared the agony. He was given a hefty punch by an Aduana fan after the match,

According to Mr.Kwadwo- Ntim, when the RFA boss was contacted after the match to explain the security lapse, he said the military personnel detailed for the match were subsequently re-directed to Bawku after they had earlier agreed to be present in Dormaa.

“My brother this is the worst football game I’ve ever seen. I don’t think the Dormaa Park is a place where association football should be played. “I saw football fans smoking Indian hemp in the full glare of the security authorities on duty. Some Muslim fans that went to pray after recess had to run for their lives when a fan of Aduana set a nearby bush ablaze. The DOLB cannot convince me that the military officers assigned for our game at Dormaa were sent to Bawku. This is not the first time. It happened in our game against Space F/C last two weeks. If the military for the B/A vs. Aduana game were sent to Bawku, how come there was military presence at the Sunyani game between Tano Bofoakwa and Bechem Chelsea which was less tension?”

The CEO of B.A United has therefore called on the F.A to institute a probe into the events that occurred before; during and after their match against Dormaa Aduana Stars on Sunday 12th May 2008 at Dormaa Ahenkro so that whoever that fell foul of the rules and regulations of the F.A is punished accordingly.
