Agogo's Late Strike Sinks Antwi's Team

Black Stars Junior Agogo's late strike propelled his team Nottingham Forest into the top six as Colin Calderwood's side won for the fourth time in five league outings as they beat Hartlepool 2-1.

Forest had looked to be heading for a home draw until Agogo fired home the rebound after Jan Budtz only managed to parry a long-range shot from Kris Commons, who had earlier given Forest the lead. Commons justified his recall to the side as he bagged his third goal in as many games.Centre-halves Michael Nelson and Ghanaian Godwin Antwi were guilty of not dealing with a high ball into the box and Commons cashed in to give the hosts the lead. The visitors struggled to make any progress against a resolute home defence, but, from Pools' first decent attack seven minutes before half-time, Richard Barker headed the equaliser from Ian Moore's cross.

With seven minutes left on the clock, Junior Agogo won the game for Forest after more defensive uncertainty.

Commons turned last man Ritchie Humphreys and his powerful shot was brilliantly blocked by goalkeeper Budtz, but Agogo was there to turn the ball in from the tightest of angles.
