Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp is considering a move for Rennes defender John Mensah.

Reading have had their long-standing ?3.5 bid for the Ghana international rejected in the last 48 hours.

Redknapp is considering Mensah as an alternative to Blackburn Rovers centre-half Ryan Nelsen.
