GJA to screen World Cup matches at Press Center

Accra, June 9, GNA 96 The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) on Friday, received a giant flat screen television from Somovision Ghana Limited, for the screening of the 2006 FIFA World Cup competition. The 62-inch flat screen television has already been installed at the International Press Centre, for all journalists, which is a form of collaboration between the Association and the company.

Mr Ken Osei-Boadu, Marketing Co-ordinator of Somovision, said his outfit is keen on maintaining the strong relationship with the GJA, hence the decision to install the screen at the Press Centre for the benefit of all journalists.

He said Somovision has in previous years collaborated with the GJA in many areas, adding that the installation of the television is an indication of their desire to continue with the relationship. Mr Ransford Tetteh, President of the GJA expressed appreciation to the company for responding to their request at a short notice. He said the installation of the screen at the secretariat will present journalists, especially those in sports reporting to have a common platform to share ideas during the month-long tournament.
