Yeboah says he might retire over lawyer dispute

Ghanaian striker Tony Yeboah has said he might retire over a dispute with his lawyer.

"If I have to go to court again because of this story, I'll quit," the Hamburg SV player told Wednesday's Sport Bild weekly.

Yeboah said the lawyer who defended him in a tax evasion case had presented him a bill of 973,000 marks ($307,000).

"I'm treated like this because I'm black," said the former Leeds United striker. "It's racism."

The 34-year-old, who has a contract with Hamburg SV until June next year, was convicted of tax evasion and fined 360,000 marks (?114,000) by a German court last January.

He also had a difficult year on the field and had already said he would probably retire at the end of next season, depending on his form.

Yeboah has scored over 130 top-flight goals at nearly one every two games in a career spent largely in Germany, apart from just over two years at Leeds.
