‘We will teach Hearts of Oak football’

The head coach of second-tier side Bibiani Gold Stars Johnson Smith says his side will teach Hearts of Oak how to play football in their FA Cup last-eight tie on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The former Berekum Arsenal and Asante Kotoko coach is brimming with confidence ahead of the game on Sunday.

Gold Stars are currently leading the national Division One league zone 2A with 21 points with just three games to end the season and are in pole position to qualify for the national middle league.

Coach Smith, even though admits their opponents on Sunday are a bigger side, said he will be sending his boys to Accra with one motive, that is, to go teach Hearts, what he describes as “total football”.

“As you know, Hearts are a big team but we are not worried of playing them because my boys are well determined to give them a good run for their money on Sunday,” Smith told Bolgatanga-based GBC Ura Radio.

He added that their prime target is to gain promotion to the Ghana top flight league this season and that he is happy they are leading their zone in the first division league.

“We have players who are better than those in the premier league and I can assure you that Gold Stars will teach Hearts good football and win the match come Sunday,” Smith stated.

Gold Stars sent premier league giants Ashantigold packing out of the competition during the round of 16 stages by beating them 3-1.
