Hearts Of Oak goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye has admitted that the playing body did not play to head coach Herbert Addo’s instructions in the 2-1 win over Olympique de Ngor in the second round first leg tie of the CAF Confederation Cup over the weekend.

Two second-half goals through Foovi Aguidi and Glibert Fiamenyo cancelled out Badiane Robert’s 35th minute goal to hand the Ghanaian giants a victory.

Soulama told Kumasi-based Angel FM that although it was a difficult task, the players failed to adhere to the tactics they rehearsed with their coach in the first half of the game, noting that they had an improved game in the second half which aided them to subdue their opponents.

"I think that it was a good game because they came to defend but we were able to get two goals. It was very very tough. Yeah, in the first half we didn’t play well at all and we did not play to instructions. This opponent is not a championship team. In the second half we put in a little effort and we got those goals.”

The experienced goalkeeper also told Angel FM that he expects a herculean task in Senegal because Ngor did well in the first encounter and would enjoy home support in the second leg.

"I think it will be tough if you see the side. It will be thirteen against eleven. The supporters are there and they will be playing at home as well, and even the referee can help them. But we are not looking at all those things."

The former Asante Kotoko goalie believes that the Phobians will eliminate their Senegalese counterparts, adding that the players were preparing for the duel.

"We will keep on preparing ourselves for everything, and I know that we will qualify as we did against A.S Police.’’
