WC qualifier: 'We are not afraid of Ghana' – Comoros

Ahead of their World Cup qualifier with the Black Stars of Ghana on Friday, skipper of the national team of Comoros, Ibrahim Rachidi, has said they are not afraid of Ghana because they have nothing to lose.

He told Fifa.com: "It wouldn't make sense for Ghana to miss out on the World Cup, or for them to be knocked out by Comoros. We've got nothing to lose because we've already made it through to the second round. We can beat Ghana because anything is possible in football."

The underdogs, according to their captain, will play the same way they played against Lesotho that saw them qualify to the second round on away goals after a 2-2 draw in two legs.

"We're going to play the same way we did against Lesotho," explained Rachidi. "We'll try to keep a clean sheet in the first-leg and then anything will be possible in the return game, which is when we were able to make the difference against Lesotho. We're going to work like crazy to cause them problems – and if we manage that, we'll surely come out on top."

Comoros, ranked 177 by FIFA in the world, are the clear underdogs against World Cup quarter-finalists Ghana, who are ranked 30th in the World.

Meanwhile, the Goalkeeper of the Stars, Fatau Dauda, has said they will not underestimate their opponents.

The second-leg of the duel will be played at the Kumasi Sports Stadium on Tuesday.
