Vipers threaten court action against Dwarfs and All Blacks

Cape Coast, Jan. 25, GNA- The Management of Cape Coast Venomous Vipers Football Club over the weekend threatened to take court action against Ebusua Dwarfs and Agona Swedru All Blacks for breach of contract.

According to Mr John Abeka, operations officer of the club, at the beginning of the last football league season, Dwarfs signed two of their players, Emmanuel Akaifie and Musah Labaran for a transfer fee of 10 million cedis while All Blacks entered into a contract with Vipers to release their player John Awotwe to play for them on a contract fee of six million cedis.

Mr Abeka said Dwarfs made a part payment of five million cedis with a promise to pay the rest within two months but have since failed to pay the balance.

In the case of All Blacks, they collected three million cedis out of the contract sum and failed to release the player to Vipers. Mr Abeka said all attempts to retrieve the monies from the two clubs became futile and therefore warned that if by the end of January 2004 the clubs fail to honour their promise his club would be compelled to institute court action against them to recover the said amounts.
