Vipers start campaign on a winning note

Cape Coast, Nov. 29, GNA - Cape Coast Venomous Vipers started the 2010/2011 Division One League on a bright note by beating Sekondi Metro Stars 1-0 in the opening match played at the Robert Mensah Stadium on Saturday.

Both teams started the match strongly but Vipers had the edge in the=

25th minute and scored the match winner through Vincent Bekoe. Bekoe after collecting a pass from the midfield beat his marker befo= re firing into the net.

Osei, Fiamenyo to vie for GHALCA topmost award

Accra, Nov. 29, GNA - Edwin Osei "Pele" of Accra Hearts of Oak and Gilbert Fiamenyo of Kpando Heart of Lions will vie for the topmost award of the 2010 Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) Top Four Tournament. The two, who were dominant in the four-club competition, will seek t= o the annex the enviable Most Valuable Player of the Tournament award alongside Gladson Awako of Heart of Lions. In a special ceremony fixed for Friday, December 17, Pele and Fiamen= yo, who scored five goals apiece in the competition, will receive the joint g= oal king award. Back-to-batan, Sammy Adjei of Hearts will battle with Fatau Dawuda o= f Ashgold for the Goalkeeper of the Tournament award, with Asante, Pele of Hearts and Fiaboe Kofi Sena of Lions are seeking the Goal of the Tourname= nt award.
