Vipers draw with all Blacks

Agona Swedru, Sept. 5, GNA - Cape Coast Venomous Vipers drew goalless with Agona Swedru All Blacks in their First Division League match at the Swedru Sports stadium on Saturday.

Vipers who started the match on a fast note forced the zone 2B league leaders to defend till the end of the first half.

Ten minutes after the break, Vipers had the chance to score but their playmaker, Alex Yankey shot wide with an open goal at his mercy. All Blacks took control of affairs in the dying minutes of the game and made several efforts to carry the day but the iron-clad defenders of Vipers also foiled their attempts at goal.

In another development, Cape Coast Friends Babies played a determined game to beat Ataabadze Young Dwarfs 3-0 in a friendly soccer match at the Robert Mensah Sports stadium, Cape Coast on Sunday.

Young Dwarfs matched Friends Babies boot to boot from the beginning of the match but had to cave in the 25th minute when midfielder, Peter Andoh, scored the opener against the run of play.

On resumption of the second half, Young Dwarfs made two substitutions but the changes did not deter Friends Babies from adding two more goals through Andoh and outside right, John Gyekye, in the 46th and 48th minutes.

Young Dwarfs had their best chance in the 55th minute to get a consolation goal but their inside right, Kofi Baah, after he had teased the goalkeeper out of post shot the ball over the bar.
