Venomous Vipers qualifies for Division One

Cape Coast, Oct. 27, GNA - Cape Coast Venomous Vipers on Sunday gained promotion to Division One when they pipped Assin Adiembra United Stars 1-0 in the finals of the 12th Central Region Second Division promotional super zonal soccer tournament at the Robert Mensah stadium, Cape Coast. Eight Division Two Clubs participated in the week-long tournament. Mr Anthony Egyir Aikins, Cape Coast Metropolitan Chief Executive presented the Cup to Vipers and commended the team for fighting tooth and nail to qualify for the Division One.

He urged the players to be dedicated, committed and endeavour to train harder than before to further qualify for the Premier League.

Mr Kweku Tandoh, Chief Executive Officer of the Club expressed his gratitude to Mr Abaka Turkson, Managing Director of Sonturk Group of Companies and Mr John Doughan, a businessman for their immense contribution towards the elevation of the Club to the Division One.

Midfielder Kwesi Mbil's pile driver of a shot zoomed straight into the net in the 25th minute for the winning goal.
