Upper East Regional Police team beat Media team

Bolgatanga, March 4, GNA - The Bolgatanga Police football team beat the Upper East Media Eleven team by 2-1 in a friendly football encounter played at the Saint John's Park at Bolgatanga.

All the goals came in the second half, as the first half was used by the two teams to test each others pulses and strategise to win the game. It was however the Police team that tops when they scored two goals before the media team got a consolation goal.

Chief Inspector Thomas Agbanyo, the Regional Police Public Relations Officer in interaction with the media after the encounter, described the performance of the Police team as commendable and attributed their feat to the sporting activities embarked upon every Wednesday He said the weekly exercise was instituted by the Inspector General of Police, adding "this gave the team alertness and fitness which eventually enhanced our zeal and enthusiasm to stay feat at all times." Assistant Commissioner of Police, (ACP) Mr Bright Oduro, the Upper East Regional Police Commander who captained the Police team urged the team to exhibit good sportsmanship in all their endeavours.

ACP Oduro announced that the team and its management would be constituted into a formidable regional Police team to prepare them with the requisite skills to engage in matches against other institutions in the Region to keep them alert to undertake their duties. Two companies Frimps Oil and Ghaneem Enterprise donated two boxes of pure water for the Police team.
