University of Cape Coast draw with Asamerik

Cape Coast Jan.15, GNA - University of Cape Coast (UCC) played a spectacular game to hold first division campaigners, Cape Coast Asamerik, to a 2-2 draw game in a friendly football match played at the Cape Coast sports stadium on Wednesday.

The match formed part of preparations being made by UCC for the Ghana University Students Association (GUSA) games to be held at UCC from January 21 to 30.

After a goalless first half, UCC resumed the second half in full flight and deservedly scored the opener through their midfielder, Bernard Sackitey, in the 55th minute. The cheers that greeted this goal had scarcely died down when Asamerik's outside left, Kwame Akompong leveled up the score in the 58th minute.

The game from then on became a ding - dong affair until the 80th minute when UCC's Sackitey again hit the net to increase his sides tally with a sizzling shot. Undaunted, Asamerik forced the tide in their favour and dictated the pace of the game until the 88th minute when centre half, Stanley Tetteh scored the much needed equalizer.
